So Ali made the cover of Hello! magazine.

We’ve started to demo for the new album (fuck yea!) and I thought it’d be fun to share some of the songs that didn’t make it onto our last two records as it’s likely they’ll never see the light of day otherwise.

They were all recorded at home. :]

2009 (Demos for CTAFB)

Ocean :

This was the last song we wrote before heading into the studio to record CTAFB. I wasn’t really happy with my lyrics or some of my vocal line cause I rushed it a bit. Still a great song though! Just that my bit’s are a bit shit.
I love the hook in the chorus and the middle 8 is ace.

Against the Wall :

We started writing this song before recording YEWB. Consequently it was one of the first songs to be lined up for Curious Tales..
I think we wanted this to go on the record right up until the month before we recorded. But other songs got written and replaced this. Still a great tune.

Poised with Envy :

This song made it as far as pre-production but didn’t make the record (as did Ocean).

Fake It :

I still love this song!! Gutted it didn’t make it onto YEWB but hinesight is a wonderful thing. We’ve played it acoustic a few times. A clip of one of those times is on this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMTpiuZVsJY

Shivers and Silence :

Old Song! Written right at the start of the sessions for YEWB. We played it live a few times. We dumped it before pre-production for the record.

Hi Everyone.

Thought I’d drop a quick post to say Merry Christmas(!!!) – and to let you know what we’ve been up to and what’s happenin.

For anyone that doesn’t already know, Mykee left a couple of months ago, so we’ve been taking our time over figuring out what we’re gonna do next.
We’ve got a couple of shows in January, both of which will be with our new drummer!

We’ll announce who it is soon enough but rest assured, he’s fucking sick, a perfect gentleman, and beats the shit outa his drums – which is all you can ask :]

We’re gonna do a run of shows in March – one of which is booked already with the Automatic at King Tuts. Email us if you want tickets for that one.

Finally, we’re recording our debut album in June, probably followed by a run of dates in September / October.

So most of 2010 is gonna be spent writing for the new record, which we’ve already started. New stuff is sounding wicked. Can’t wait!

We’ll be partying at the southern (on south clerk street) as well as playing a wee acoustic show after the show at electric circus. Gonna be an awesome night.

Just to confirm and to avoid any rumours, there’s been no gay little spat or anything. Nor are there ‘musical differences’. He just doesn’t want to do the write, tour, record cycle any more for lots of reasons.
