So today we bashed through a huge amount of work. Didn’t have time to take photos or take videos so we have decided to put up some of Dave’s impressive sketches. Everything is sounding BIG BIG BIG! I feel that Sean’s wonderful moustache/ obscene profanities is aiding the hugeness of it all. Â ”Brap”

So today was a killer day! Got to play and track 3 tunes. We have been trying out lots of different sounds and shredin till dead. My highlight has been playing around with Mr Genockey’s Wem custom copy cat 1962, Mmmmmmm vintage! Here are a few shots and a sneaky peek of a tune we did today.

We’ve done almost nothing today.
We went shopping.
We loaded our gear in.
We watched Sean and Tim make it all work.
I made a curry.
Dan and Dave did ‘activities’
Duncan played his kick and snare for about an hour.
We still haven’t eaten the curry that I lovingly made cause we’re gonna try tracking something before we do.
We’re all very very hungry.
Should hopefully be tracking in 10 mins or so.
Then we get to eat the curry!

Today we arrived at Rockfeild studios. This place is amazing, very chilled and very pretty

Hi all.
We’re doing an album this summer (july to be exact) with Sean Genockey (Reuben, Engerica) at Rockfield studio in sunny Wales (love that place) :]
We’ll be tracking it live which is really exciting, and totally different to how we’ve done things in the past.
Also, Sean has a fantastic mustache which I’m fairly sure is the secret behind his records sounding so ace.

Got sent a few pictues from our King tuts gig with the automatic (Cheers Marc). Had a really fun show. I have a feeling that show will be that last for a wee while. We shall have our heads in the sand writing riff upon riff of rock goodness. Hopefully once we have them demoed a few clips will go up.

Scottish quartet To Catch A Thief are fast becoming a seriously exciting proposition. With a sound that encompasses riff-based heaviness, massive melody and emotionally charged intensity, they are like a distillation of what makes modern guitar based music thrilling.
The proof of this can be seen in 'Curious Tales and Fierce Beasts' (the band's third EP), due for release on August 10 2009 on Colour In Records. Building on the success of both 2008's 'Your Eyes Will Burn' and 2007's eponymously titled EP's, this five tracker is a jaw-droppingly accomplished record.

Produced with startlingly clarity and power by Romesh Dodangoda (Funeral For A Friend, Kids In Glass Houses), the five tracks all display an uncommon maturity and depth. 'Not Guilty' is a driving anthem layered with intricacy and performed with the deftest of touches. (And possessed of the kind of chorus that musical empires are founded on!).
'1000 Miles Away' is a gentle invocation that ebbs and flows until suddenly bursting into a goose bump inducing climax.
And 'The Hunted', capably demonstrates the band's addictive blend of passion and aggression.
"We couldn't be happier with the new record," says frontman Ali Lane, "We've really moved forward, developed our sound, and written the record we knew we were capable of writing. We couldn't have written the songs that we have without playing the amount of shows we have done in the last 2 and a half years, and without going through the natural progression that we have done."
Indeed the band have readily embraced the age old ethos of 'make it happen on the road'. Lengthy tours have honed and sharpened their sound immensely. And the band have no intention of stopping anytime soon.
"As far as the future goes, we'll keep touring as much as we can and hope people are into this record. We wanted to write a record that people will fall in love with and I think we've done that."
